Deziree's profound understanding of creativity’s role in emotional intelligence deeply resonates, eliciting powerful emotional responses from her audience. Through immersive installations, she transforms spaces into “timeline intermissions”. Inviting viewers to pause, reflect and engage in personal introspection alongside shared vulnerability. Ingeniously incorporating found film photos and objects into multi-media artworks. Deziree sparks discussions about the impact of interactions on our perspectives and actions. Reclaiming introspection as a tool for collective betterment.
Deziree’s artwork not only challenges our psyche and morals but also explores the therapeutic power of play and mindful practices; directly influenced by her coping and making sense of her personal life and ancestry.
Beyond her artistic prowess, Deziree is an impassioned educator advocating art as a potent tool for meditation and personal growth, especially for children. With a BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, and a Child Development Cert, she dedicates herself to nurturing young minds. Her formal roles at the Harlem Children's Zone, JCC-Metrowest and private mentoring/teaching showcase her commitment to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers.
